I'm going to jump in after many posts. Yes, Taylor-Dunn used Yamaha chassis/drive trains, but I don't remember a G1-A, mostly G2/G9's. Your title say's, idles at any throttle positison, do you mean it doesn't turn off when the accelerator pedal is in the off posission? You said you had a very high (can't remember the #), but stock G1's had 120 lbs max and would run at 100 lbs minimum. When any 2 cycle has great compression ,but have to "choke" to make run, it is usually crank seal's. The exhaust valve was installed on some G1's to promote better low end power. The stock Yamaha oil pump was desighned to feed the oil at differant levels (from idle to max rpm) controlled by exhaust pressure. It regulates the oil supplied up to max rpm/power to 150: to 1. When you test the oil pump feed line, you will only see a "pin head" of oil comeing out. If I have asked some questions/or made a statement that may help your situation, please just ask. Good luck.

idle at any throttle position as in the rpms would not pick up. i had a pipe bon fire and cleaned out alot of carbon. the golf cart does 21 mph as of right now. the chassis looks to be a modified standard golf cart. the diamond plate body is mounted extended. a few modifications for suspension and steering were made but now my biggest problem is the bog from middle throttle to full throttle. the motor stays at the same rpm and it will bog bad after a 20 or so seconds. someone mentioned float height, im assuming its carb issue as of right now.

Im not sure what the float height should be but i think there are some manuals on the site that might help. As for the choke still having to be on, i think someone else on here mentioned its probably too lean and id have to agree because you said it was backfiring aswell and you said the plug showed signs of being lean too so id work at that. I think that guy also mentioned the seals crank seals might be gone because that causes some odd operation and can lead to leaning out the motor too but i cant help you there because im not sure how to check them. If you do figure out how to check them let me know because id like to know too!
