I am having a hard time choosing Trojan battery model?
We drive our cart about 20-30 miles per week with a decent load most of the time.
I currently have Trojan T-860's and they do fine. I was going to order the T-890's but then noticed that the total weight overall would increase by 78lbs but they have longer run time. I have a custom top that already adds alot of wieght and dont need anymore. Any suggestions? T-875 T-860 T-890 Thanks |

I am not a sparky guy but I know that when someone has an objection to a choice they will not be happy with that choice. There will always be that nag in the back of their mind, the 860s work go for it.

Yep, the more lead you pack the farther you will go.....and ditch the heavy unwanted top .... electrics are weight sensative

I run 30 to 40 miles a week in mine with Excide 4800. I have yet to have a problem with run time in almost 2 years.

To me bigger batteries is like having a bigger fuel tank. Do you need 30 gallons or 20?
The extra weight is your extra fuel. |

78 extra pounds are worth for extra range. But the T-890 will cost lot more than the 875 the ones I recommend more.

Re: I am having a hard time choosing Trojan battery model?
See Trojan Batteries.com for specs. 860 is good 875 is better & 890 is best. I would choose the 875 over the 890 as there isn't that much difference in staying power for your usage vs the extra cost for the 890 plus you are only packing an extra 30# over the 860. Weights are 860s = 58#, 875s = 63#, and 890s = 69#. Make sure you are getting current mfg. batteries if someone is offering a "deal". Look on NEG pad. the letter is month of mfg. (A=January, etc.) Number is year of Mfg. So D 9 will be April 2009Be sure and get your warranty from DATE OF SALE...Not date of MFG.
