Shorted two wires on top of Motor
Lastnight I messed up pretty bad and I am looking for some assistance. I was wiring in a new voltage step down for my new headlights and I dropped a tool on top of the motor. And yes like a dummy I had the master power switch on. There was a pretty good arch between the top two connectors on the motor. Now the cart will go forward but will not go backward. The buzzer sounds and I can hear a click back where the curtis controler is located which is right above the motor and nothing, no reverse. The cart is a 2006 Precedent with a stock motor and controler. Where do I start?

Just to make sure that you didn't harm the motor instead of the controller, switch the F1 and F2 leads on your motor, Do this AFTER you place your cart in TOW and disconnect your main positive and negative leads from your battery pack!) If you now go forward when the switch is in reverse and buzzer is on, its your motor/wire going to the F post inside the motor. You can also do this from your controller... just switch the Blue and Orange wire at the top of it... again after you disconnect, etc. This is much easier and no need to use 2 wrenches while undoing your cables from the motor posts, one to hold the bottom nut while loosening the top nut! |

Re: Shorted two wires on top of Motor
Make sure to use 2 wrenches so don't twist motor leads. One baker wrench one to loosen the nut holding the cable

ScubaBud, just so i understand the positive results after switching the wires I should get the cart to back up and that will confirm the circuts in the motor work forward and back. Yes?
