Default questions about going 72v

I have a txt that is converted to 48v
Everything is new as of april this year
Batteries,cables,controller,charger,ect
I have a heavy duty f/r and a alltrax 4855 500 amp controller also my motor is a emp
Would it be poss to just change my six 8v batteries to six 12v and buy a 72 charger and solnoid? Or do i need to change my controller and motor as well? Also what about my f/r switch? Thanks guys

well 12v cart batteries are NOT the same size as regular batteries or even deep cycle marine batteries.....where a typical 6 or 8 v battery is about 10 ⅜ in x 7 ⅛ in x 10 ⅞ in (L X H X W)......where as a typical 12v cart battery is about 13 5/16 in x 6 3/4 in x 10 1/16 in. you will have to make a custom battery tray to keep them under the seat, that's for sure! lol

Yes you will need a controller capable of 72v (peak 90v) in order to convert. The 72v conversion is costly, everything 72v costs much more then 48v components. I did a 72v off road monster and while it came out better then expected it did end up a very expensive cart.

I sold it for $6000 and made some money. Here's the link to my build thread. I used non-standard batteries though.
