87 club car getting hot
1987 club car running really slow and getting very hot. Replaced 3 solenoids and 1 microswitch. now cart runs right but still gets very hot. I touched one of the resister coils and burned my hand. The batteries were low at the time of running the cart.

Re: 87 club car getting hot
The resistor coils are supposed to get hot. It doesn't matter if your going fast or slow the same amount of power is being used.....the extra power at slow speed is being burnt off as heat in the resistor coils. Thats how it regulates speed. At WOT the coils are out of the circuit.
They will burn your hand.....thats one reason they don't build them anymore. |
