Yamaha G16E situation
I have a G16e 36 golf cart with a non-working controller. There is an available 48V motor and controller (offerred as a package) which I intend to install replacing the busted 36V controller and the 36V motor.
My questions are: 1. If I simply replaced the controller and use the 36V motor, 36V solenoid and 36V battery, will this work? The 48V motor has F1, F2, A1 and A2 terminals while the 36volt motor has S1, S2, A1 and A2 terminals. Can the S1 cable be connected to the F1 terminal of the 48V motor, F2 to S2 too? 2. Can a 48V electrical set up (48V solenoid, 48v motor and 48V controller) run on a 36V battery set up without any detrimental effect on the 48V controller? Would appreciate reply/comments. |

Re: Yamaha G16E situation
A 48v yamaha sepex system will not work on 36v, it will always be shutting down due to low voltage. You also cannot mix-&-match series & sepex motors & controllers.
