I have not seen the video, but what You describe will only work as long as the OBC is still working and the negative cable is going through it.

It does not make sense to by-pass only part of the OBC as even a working OBC will eventually lock-up the controller if it never detects a charging cycle.

If my OBC is still working and I am just bypassing so my DPI charger will work do I just run the wire to the pack negative or I need to connect the blue and white wire as well?

If You don't connected the White and the Blue wires together, You may experience the OBC going to sleep.

The OBC on the Precedent will put the controller in lockout after 3 days of inactivity if it has not detected a PowerDrive charger plugged in (sense wire monitor).

When You try to drive the cart, The pedal signal will wake up the OBC, the battery warning light will come ON and after a few seconds the controller will work again.

The OBC may eventually go into a permanent lockout condition (like if it thinks the Electrolyte has been depleted in the batteries) that can only be reset by plugging the PowerDrive charger into the cart.

If You are going to use a different charger, the best option is to completely by-pass the OBC.

Thank you for your help! I think I have it straight now. I am going to splice the white and blue wires together that I see on the plug by OBC. Then disconnect the black wire that is running to charging port and put a ring terminal on and run to the negative battery terminal.

I did this modification to my 2007 Club Car DS so I could use the DPI Accusense charger and it worked perfectly. Thanks Sergio for the explanation.

Sergio or David :

I have a 97 ds. I just bought a dpi charger for it ( bypassed version).

I cut the # 10 black wire from charge recept to obc, and routed that from the charge recept to main battery negative. I also removed the fuse from yellow fuse holder behind the charge recept, and i unplugged the big gray connector and left it unplugged.

Now the cart wont run at all. This the ds with 1 oddball coil mounted behind the batteries.

What do i need to do, to make cart run now? Plug connector back together? Do i need to splice any wires? Or put fuse back in?

New charger seems to be charging, just won't run now.

If You are referring to the powerDrive Plus Regen1 model below:
http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/attac...s_-regen1-.jpg
That is an oddball one we did not talk about.

You need to disconnect the yellow wire bullet connector #19 in the diagram near the controller.

You will then run that wire from the controller directly to Controller N or Pack Negative.

Sergio. this diagram is half correct. I have come across a different cart that had the same "in between" wiring.

The controller is different, and it has a vglide, and push button f/r. All else is the same.

So do i still do this to the yellow wire?

Do i need to hok that big gray plastic connector back together?

Do i need to reinstall the fuse i removed from the yellow holder?
