Re: 3pg Rebuild Help
Where is your gas tank, and why do you have a shutoff valve?
The way you are describing it makes it sound like the tank is mounted up high, and that the carb floods without even spinning the engine over. Is that correct? |

Re: 3pg Rebuild Help
Yes. My cart is jacked up 24" but the cradle has been leveled. So my fuel tank is definitely higher than the engine. The shutoff was in place when I got it. I noticed a vent I guess on top of the carb with a tube that goes to the intake tube. When I remove the tube from the little vent on the carb it stops flooding and it runs great but it pisses fuel out of that vent when driving. The vent is confusing to me as it has a hole in the side of the post therefore it is blocked when the tube is on it and is unable to equalize. When I cover the hole it immediately starts pouring fuel. Shouldnt that be vented out of the top of that vent so it can actually vent?

The last post in this thread is interesting. http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/gas-e...lots-pics.html
A 24" lift is so ridiculous, I have to see pictures. |

Sounds like a very similar issue! I seriously don't know how you find this stuff lol. I have looked and looked. I will give that a shot and report back with my findings :)

I can't figure out how to post pictures but yes it is ridiculous lol! It's taller than most stock 4x4 mid sized trucks. The lift was all done when I got it.

Re: 3pg Rebuild Help
Ok so essentially this is what I am doing by closing off the fuel shutoff. The question I have is the small vent tube? It squirts fuel out as I'm driving but the vent hole is on the side of the post so with the tubing on it is covered and immediately floods. Should I drill the top of that post out so that it will vent properly?

Re: 3pg Rebuild Help
So your tank is up high above the carb? Have you tried Gravity feeding the fuel down into the carb without a pump?? Does it overflow then?
What pump are you using? Stock diaphragm, car electric, Ect? Please post pictures. |

Down at the reply box click on go advanced. In the upper bar you will see a paperclip.
Click on that. Another box opens up, and you can upload 5 pictures at a time. |

Re: 3pg Rebuild Help
I found this amazon review with a picture of the side vent hole.
https://www.amazon.com/EZGO-Carburet.../dp/B007R0J8MM (Not quite what I wanted to show. Click on the reviews.) I have no idea why it's like that. I do know that the 2 pg carburetor vents out the top, and the tube dumps overboard. It doesn't connect to anything. I think your setup is over powering the float valve. |
