Default How do I shim an Ezgo driven clutch

I have searched and searched. I can not find a good explanation of where to install shims in my driven clutch.

My problem is at full speed my belt flops around and makes a lot of noise. It's also damaging the belt.

I've replaced the drive clutch already.

It seems that the driven clutch is opening to much causing the belt to flop around. I'm going to replace the driven clutch, but need a temporary fix. It seems like shimming is one solution.

Thank you

you should never have to shim the clutch, sounds like you have the wrong drive belt. what size lift kit?

How wide is your belt? An inch or less is junk.

1 3/16 brand new belt. 45 inches long. I'm going to try a 4040 inch belt as well.

Grab a hold of the forward plate, and give it a good shake. My 87 sheared the rivets holding the plate on. You couldn't tell until it opened up. I cleaned everything up, and shot new rivets into it.

Also take a screw driver or pry bar and pry on your engine mount between it and the cradle to check the rubber motor mounts. Check each mount for separations ect.
If they break the engine will move under load and cause all sorts of alignment issues and slack in the belt.
