01 EZGO gas dies after 10 minutes
Have a buddy with an 01 EZGO. Starts and runs fine for about 10 minutes and then it dies. After about 10 minutes, it'll do it all over again. Suggestions?

Re: 01 EZGO gas dies after 10 minutes
Check the valve clearances. To tight and you loose compression when it heats up.
Hook up a timing light and drive it. See if you loose spark when it cuts out. If it does hook up a test light to the solenoid and see if you loose power when it gets hot. Hook up a voltmeter and Check the battery voltage continuously while driving and when it quits. A bad regulator can overcharge the battery and when the voltage gets too high the cdi and or coil overheat and you loose spark. Try running it with the gas cap loose. Known to plug up, build a vacuum and starve for fuel. Little break the vacuum goes away and runs fine. |
