Which would you chose if you had to do it again?
We're moving into a great new community in N. FL that actively encourages golf carts, and are looking for your opinions.
I'm looking mainly at 48V electric carts. I've found a few newer reconditioned ones in our price range. Most are EZGO TXT models, but I have found a couple of Club Cars and some Yamahas as well. Thoughts? Must haves and things to avoid? Thanks in advance! Brian |

Re: Which would you chose if you had to do it again?
After working on a couple EZGO and CC Precedent, I settled on the CC Precedent. The carts were similar age and came from the same golf course but the Precedents had much less corrosion from the batteries. All of the EZGO were rusted badly under the batteries while the CC had none because the battery box is plastic. The other was the drive system on the Precedent is sepex and that suited me much better than the EZGO which happened to be all series carts. However, CC and EZGO make both so I would look at that first. After that, it is a matter of what looks good to you.

Choose what appeals to you. They all have pluses and minuses. I would recommend staying away from off brand Chinese stuff.
Other than that, choose what you like and what suits your needs. |

Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to BGW. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, wives’, husbands, girlfriend’s and boyfriends here don't care....and take it easy.
oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here. Welcome!! |

Thanks for the welcome! What's with the name? Just curious, as I'm a retired Navy Nuke, and work for Siemens Energy at nuclear outages. I see you're an hour from STP, and wondered if either of those had anything to do with it. |

Re: Which would you chose if you had to do it again?
Uhh, maybe if OP posted some more of their requirements & info of what is their "price range", we could have a better target to aim at. Stuff like will it need lights & ability to be Dmv licensed (where a Ptv model might be best). A low price goal might eliminate some really good newer models, a super low $ goal might eliminate the newest models all together. Range required per day? Big hills? Any possibility of a 4-pass kit in the future? We were left with a rather vague question.

Re: Which would you chose if you had to do it again?
Ezgo TXT48 would be my choice.
I have a late model Precedent. The new Precedent seats are great but the Ezgo still does and always has given a better ride. Ergonomically speaking the steering wheel location and angle is more correct too. And everything aftermarket every made for golf carts is made to fit it.... now, the Yamaha may ride very good or better than both with it's wishbone front suspension but, those carts only command a small portion of the market so aftermarket stuff not as readily available, tech support is sometimes lacking, and yeah it has a 'tin can' motor that gives up pretty easy. I hope this helps. Let the bottle throwing begin |

I'm just waiting, Ac powered Yamahas will be coming off lease pretty soon, those have more power stock than any of us are used to, and perform great with 10.5 HS gears.
