thanks guys
Don (Lockman) what am I looking at in the first Picture ?? or what should i be looking at in it ?? Assume RPM Rev Limiter

the second one i see the zip tie and assume its role it to limit the expansion of the coil on the governor cable so it pull the engine to higher RPMS. so the little note/ how to on the forum stickies.
Quote:
Seventh, remove your RPM limiter. It's the black box on front of the engine. It's held behind a bracket by two 10mm bolts.
What the RPM with Rev Limiter, and what is the safe RPM to run it at, what is the Red Line/ No No Range !?!

Yep!
I looked at the 2 pics I have of my rev limiter, and they aren't very clear either!
So I'll go this route...

The limiter is on the lower front of the engine (#22),
all you really need to do is remove the ground wire from the left mounting bolt (@ #13) tape it up, and let it hang there.

I was going to comment on the second pic yesterday...
for almost 10 years now, I didn't know my driven clutch spring was green!
(Yeah, that's my cart with the zip ties, and it's okay, I've shared that pic numerous times!)

And yeah, the zips limit the amount of expansion of the governor spring!
I pinch it in the spring, and leave them a little loose for low speed cruising!

about 3600 with the limiter, and about 4200 to 4300 RPM's without,
That's about that max you should go while running WOT for long periods, or the valves will start to float. (and that's not good!)

Don't let that little 290 fool you, it's a strong little motor and if tuned up right, can turn those 23 inch tires with ease.
I ran my 290 at 4 Grand all day long everywhere I went!!!
But very rarely did I take it past 4 Grand...
WithThese modifications you should be quite happy with your results...

He hasn't lifted it yet, so tire size hasn't been determined yet!

Bear,

On a side note, Lockman (aka..."Don", "Lock", or "The Man') has a great wealth of knowledge, I tell you this because when he makes a post of a PDF or a picture I usually download it,(you should too) I have one great big file a PDFs, that he has posted over the years since I have been a member.

My cart would not be where it is today if not for lock, don't be getting the fat head on me Don, I'm not trying to give you a compliment, just a mere observation of years and years of following.....

Bear already knows! we've been PMing, and emailing back and forth since he signed up, and he now has a wealth of pdf's that he can use!
and a follow up... I only know my cart! (CC gasser)
if you were to put a sparky, Yami, or Ez-Go in front of me... I'd look at you like a deer in headlights!

Who really cares about the Yamahas and sleazy goes or a Sparky that you got to plug in, need to be an engineer to understand, amps, ohms, volts, relays, switches, blah blah blah...
Air, fuel, and Spark
Seems a lot simpler......

Forgive me guys, I am learning, best way is to ask questions, I do NOT like to guess.

Reading the stickies on speeding up club car and wondering what does this mean ?? a little fuzzy to me

Quote:
Under the driver side floor pan, you will see a rod linking the gas pedal to the black box pivot. Remove this rod and lengthen it to the longest it will go without being wobbly. Make sure the spring actuated hold downs are back in the same position they came off in. Before you replace this, loosen the nyloc nut on the accelerator pedal return spring until there are only about 1/4" of visible threads left on the end of the rod. Replace the accelerator rod.
are we referring to the parts in this assembly (see attached) or something completely different ?

THANKS !!
