Do you have a volt meter?

Any idea what would be wrong
how do you check the big coil
I have I get a reading going from A1 to A2
and from F1 to F2
the key switch has been replaced and I have checked it OK

Probly a bad connection or a bad microswitch. Get out the volt meter and print the G2 diagram off thats in the sticky at the top of the yamaha forum and start checking things. Start traceing from your main power wires and check things until you find the broken circuit.

I have checked all the switches and cleaned all the conections
I am down to the motor being bad or the big coil
After I try the motor test you said and hook it all back up
I am going to put 12V to the silonied small screws
That is the first thing that is not working it is not pulling down

12 volts will not activate the coil. You need 36 volts to activate it. If the solenoid is not activating on 36 volts either the solenoid is bad or something is not making a good connection or miswired.

when I had it out I put 12V + to 1 & -to the other 2 small screws and it clicked
you put the full 36V to the small screws????
I know the big ones cary 36V

Yes. The whole system runs on 36 volts. If it activated on 12 thats fine....most don't. Unless it's an automotive solenoid.
