most club cars have a serial number tag under the passengers side glovebox post that number and someone can tell you what year it is and what engine..don't know about the other question.....

Depending on what year you have there is a yellowish plastic three lobe cam on the back side of the shifter that activates the micro switches.
When pulled out and rotated 180 degrees, it will allow you to start the cart in nuetral or "maintenance mode".

Newer models might be different.

Ok I found the yellow cup and understand the maint. mode now.

But there is no id number or vin numbers under the pass. side glove box.
So is there any other way to figure out year and what motor I have?

I read some lift kit adds and they was asking what color front wheel hubs the cart has , black or the silver metal ones. Well mine are the silver metel dust covers. If that helps any.
