Default no gas to spark plug cylinder

I have a 2002 club car. Everything was working fine. I took the starter generator off to get new brushes replaced. Put it back on and went to start it and it turned over but would not start. Have spark at plug but I did notice that there was no gas on plug at all when I took it out. Pulled the air intake hose off while trying to start and the gas would blow out of the carb but would not go towards spark plug cylinder.
