Re: Quick battery question
Anything 600cca or better will be fine,The only downfalls of AGM-Batteries are:
1:Charger that is made for AGMs'(a regular charger will damage them) 2:Price-versus-Longevity I've always run standard automotive batteries in our carts, and they get pounded hard off-road,My Battery finally quit this year,It was almost 10yrs.old,was in my truck before, then was in the cart for 4yrs.I know alot of guys that run the Optima-Batteries in their Trucks/Race-Cars,and they usually barely get 2yrs.out of them.I can't see it for the price difference, but everyone has opinions.I use AGM-Batts in my 4-Wheeler,Thats what the Mfg. specifies,It barely lasts 2-seasons of use every time,Wifes has a Wet-Cell,Its'3yrs. old,and hasn't been used in over a year, but still cranks right over. |

Re: Quick battery question
When I checked for a draw with the light tester I noticed that the light on the tester would go from dim to bright to dim to bright kind of like if you were slowly turning up and down a dimmer switch. The light didn't remain on at a steady rate. Is that normal? I got no lights at all on the tester when the radio was disconnected so I think it is the radio drawing down the battery as it sits. I didn't think the clock and memory would draw that much?

Re: Quick battery question
Mike Mac...I hear the coke ovens is a nice ride in the east valley out of the Florence area. I have never been but know a few that have. Maybe when the weather cools a bit us Az folks can all get together for a ride. That sounds like a good time to me

Re: Quick battery question
The Clock/Memory draws, but it shouldn't kill it in a week,I would have the battery tested.Another Free Test:Charge the battery.Test the voltage.Unhook the battery from the cart.Check the voltage over a few days,if it drops drastically, your battery is shot.Or pull it out and have it load-tested.

Re: Quick battery question
Like Changa said, but I would go straight for taking my "charged battery" in and having it load tested. If there is a hint of it being bad, replace it, its not going to heal itself!! And if these cars don't have a starter, your not going anywhere!
Ice, I would love ta get together and ride!! But in december or january!! |
