Default G22 Unplugged Connector

While working on the recently inherited golf cart, I noticed this connector is unplugged. As you can see, the connector is located just behind and below the "tow switch panel". I have two questions:

1. What purpose does this connector serve?

2. Is there a reason someone would intentionally open this connection?

Thanks!

It is the connector for the "speed sensor" that gives the controller input for "anti runaway" and "rgenitive braking" features. Probably unhooked it to try to increase speed.
