yamaha motor cross over
I ask this same question on the club car side and got no answers.
So I will try it on the Yamaha side. My question is---do you know of any Yamaha 36 volt motor bolt up and work on a 2000 club car differential. If so can you please give me the year or part number. Reason being, I can find used 36 volt Yamaha motor but can't find any for club cars.I'm in a build and don't want to spend a lot of money when I'm just trying new things. I'll ask one more question what is the difference when they state 36/48. On my other build, I used a 36 volt motor (series) but changed batteries over to 48 volts.will the above motor 36/48 still give me the increase torque? thanks Sonny |

Re: yamaha motor cross over
yamaha G-1, G-2, and possibly G-9 (prior to dana 19 spline) will fit clubcar. If the yamaha cart had a yamaha built axle with removable axletubes, NOT a dana axle, The motor will fit the 10 spline clubcar (i have done it). In my experience, A 36v motor will be fine on 48v. all ratings listed on the motor id sticker will increase by 33% (33% more RPMs, horsepower and torque). The experimenting you are doing is fun and sometimes fast.

Thanks for the reply. I was told this would work, but you are the first to confirm this.
Do you know when they stopped the mfg. of the Yamaha rear end. Was it the G9 ? Thanks Sonny |

Re: yamaha motor cross over
G-9 ended production in 1995, and according to the parts program @ work, the G-9 had the Yamaha built axle 'till the end of production.

Re: yamaha motor cross over
I forgot about the less common G3 and G5 sunclassics, those motors would work too.
