Default CURTIS Controllers 1227-2402 & 1227-2406. Programmable by what Programmer #?

I have 2 Pride mobility Scooters that I want to program, if possible. They use the multi mode Curtis 1227-2402 & 1227-2406 controllers.

One is faster than the other, so I'd like to see what I can improve.

I have a few questions:
Anyone have any experience with any settings that are adjustable on these, and what programmer can I use to change settings on these specific controllers? 1311-4401? 1311-3309? 1313-4401?

I found out the hard way that a 1307-1101 programmer won't even talk to these controllers. I get an error message ....I think it was "protocol level incompatibility"

Also, anyone make their own adapter cable to go from round plug to molex?
I have a good lead on a 1311-3309 controller...

Thanks.

I know this thread is very old, but...

My Pride Wrangler has a 1227 controller and reprogramming unlocks a lot of potential - and danger, LOL.

Here is how I did it.
