Batteries
Hi,
I recently purchased a used 2009 Yamaha G29, and the batteries swell up a lot at both end. They still hold the charge very well, but I'm not sure is it safe to keep using it till they die or just go get the new set. I'm just affraid one day they will explode under the seat. Need some advise please. Tks. |

Re: Batteries
It is very common for older batteries to swell some, in my experience, that doesnt necessarly mean they are "ready to explode". What brand of batts, and how old?

Re: Batteries
Trojan T-875, the guy I bought the Cart from never change them out, so I'm thinking 5 years old batteries.

Re: Batteries
Look on the - post of the batteries for a number. That should be the year they were made.

Re: Batteries
Yep. Start saving your pennies, those batteries "days are numbered". If you are happy with the range, keep on keepin' on. They typically dont start exploding when they are worn out tho...

Re: Batteries
When I got the wifes 2009 I had them put new ones in. They were 3 2009 and one 2012. They sold me new ones for $600.00. They told me they would load test the old ones. I just went with new ones.
