Needs work. Columbia Par car. My first cart.

Hello all, just picked up my first cart last night. In which I broke my #1 rule, dont buy anything in the dark....

Anyways Its a little rougher than anticipated. And should have looked at battery prices prior to purchase. Im not even sure what year it is.

First off Its a Columbia Par Car serial/vin 3ED-36522-E6 Could someone tell me what year it is?

Second. Im only showing 37 volts over the whole bank. 5 out of the 8 batteries show 5.8-6.2 volts. The other 3 range from 1.9-3.8 volts. When I plugged it in the charger flashed an error code. I did get it to barley turn the wheels a few times. But 99% of the time the controller??? Flashes a green light 7 times. does not move.


Sorry for the long winded post. Just curious what I actually have, and if its worth saving.

I found a columbia vin decoder, but mine isnt listed?

3ED is a P4E, your standard golf cart Eagle.

7 flash on the controller is low voltage. (Controller has green flash if problem, charger if has a problem will have red flash).

You could charge two of your lower batteries with a car charger by themselves to get them up to at least near 6 volts. Do that until each pair is at least around 6, then try the on board charger again and it should kick in. Make sure before you do it all the lead plates are at least covered with water. DON'T TOP OFF. Do that AFTER you charge.

Do you know of a good source for parts? Im not sure if its an odd ball cart or what, but im having trouble finding easy stuff. Brake cables, lens, ect....

I got the bad batteries trickled charged, One is back to 6 volts. 2 are at 4 volts still. It did move under its own power. "15 feet"

When hooked up to the on board charger they were bubbling like crazy. None were getting hot but sure was alot of bubbling.

The charger got to the 80% light, and 5 out 6 on the led lights.

Are my batteries toast? Or do I have any other options?

Worst case I hope I could get my money back. Its a 2006 Columbia Par car. 4 seater, no top. 6.5 out of 10 on overall condition. What would it be worth?

Bubbling is hydrogen gassing. Let the charger do ita job and go full cycle to solid green.
