2009 Drive feels/is very tippy
I recently purchased a 2009 Drive that was customized from the basic cart. I had a three inch lift installed which nicely moves the wheels out a little bit. When I drive it alone or with just my 7 year old, all right hand turns feel as if the cart is going to tip. Is there a way to stiffen up the suspension? I know the ride will change, but I'd rather be safe while cruising around the campground.
Thanks!! |

I am a big guy, but have been driving golf carts for years and have never been on one that felt like this.

Try setting "toe in" at "zero", or no toe in.

You might also contact Pachanga90. He makes a rear anti-sway bar with Heim joints for the older G series Yamaha carts - his products are hand made, very reasonably priced, and first rate. I bought his 3" lift, 20" wheel kit, and have the sway bar on order. My G19 isn't too tipsy, but I get a little tire rub in the rear on hard turns that the sway bar should cure.
I also have a Drive and the rear suspension doesn't look that much different at a fast glance, could be he could fix you up. |

When I got my G29, the toe was set at 1in out. It didn't handle well at all. I reset to 1/8 toe in and it seems to be just about right.

Thanks for the advice!! I'll pass the advice along to the place where I bought it and hopefully he takes care of it. If not, I'll have to :)

The Yamaha rear suspension is extremely soft and give the "tip over" feeling. We recommend installing heavy duty rear coils to help with this. Part# 6280 http://www.jakesliftkits.com/product.asp?sku=6280

Does Jake's have front springs, too?
