Default G16 Trans Oil Type?

Ok, I am working on a friends G22 and the manual states the Trans Oil is SAE 90. Problem is I can find anything made by Yamaha that is listed just SAE 90. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Thanks,

Josh

I'm using Mobil 1 75/90 gear oil and it's working fine in my G22 and G29. I purchased it at Wal-Mart.

Mobil 1 products are in everything I own that has gears or pistons. Great stuff. I hope you added the friction modifier in the G29. Maybe the Mobil 1 gear oil already has it in it for all I know.

Thanks for all the replies!

My concern is all of these options are 75-90 weight which means most of the time the will run at less than 90. I am assuming thus to be ok, but why would Yamaha specify a 90 SAE then not make one?

Also. I agree with the friction modifier comment in the person with the g29 as the brake is in the transaxle.
