Stang says in his professional opinion ( it's posted in red below). And member txpres post the facts. Wjmulder No not all club cars come with it. but some do. Carts with accessories do.

Again, I used them in amplifier installs were amp draws were high. Have you ever seen a reducer on a factory lighted cart? No, I didn't think so.

Happens every now and then.... Lots of good helpful folks here some have egos to fill some don't.... I get a little ticked at being labeled a "Lemming" simply for having come to the same conclusions as the masses though...

So when this thread started going towards a debate of running a voltage reducer/ convertor vs not running a voltage reducer/ convertor I was looking forward to hearing both sides of the conversation in one thread as I haven't found many threads where they have really debated back and forth. But I was never expecting the thread to turn into this and I hope the drama is all done. I appreciate everyone's time and knowledge on these subjects and I know have the information I need to make a decision on what I am going to do.

Thanks again for everybody who helped.

I'm sorry this thread took some weird turns! sometimes that happens!

But... to be honest? most of this thread has some pretty useful information! (one way, or another!)

Carry on!

travis_slim,

When I first got my cart, also a 4 12 volt battery Precedent I did the NO voltage reducer first, just using battery #4 as my 12 volts source. Six months later after my battery failed I purchased a new 12 volt trojan as well as a lighter duty voltage reducer. I've since installed one similiar to the one you're showing in your first post, a 30 amp which does everything I want it to and of course have it using my ENTIRE pack.

I highly recommend doing this and hope that your choice is one of the same.

Good luck on whatever your decision is...
