You have what appears to be a 16v to 12v reducer. (circled in green) The way it should be hooked up is to connect it in series to the battery terminal circled in yellow

I did have voltage at the Blue Switch Lead - and it went to 0V when I disconnected the grey wire from the main harness. Can you help me with the next troubleshooting step ... Thanks

Those 16v->12v reducers are only good if You don't use your lights often as they will cause your pack to get out of balance.

While the MadJax instructions technically shows you that any 2 batteries would work, that is not the case in a precedent.

There is a flyback diode in the harness for the brake relay that is connected to the negative side that while reversed biased, will feed voltage back to the +48v switched side if the negative is not pack negative.

That happens in your case because your "negative" is actually +34v as wired.

Since You don't have an OBC, You don't need to worry about connecting the converter negative to the controller B- side, just make sure it references the true pack negative.
Connect the "Ring terminal" of your converter to pack negative battery post.
Connect the "Negative output" of your converter to the "Bucket Harness" negative wire.
Connect the +12v "Bucket Harness" wire to the battery post that gets you +16v from pack negative (the one jjance circled in yellow in his post).
That should stop the voltage feedback.

Sergio is 100% correct. That's what I figured was going to be the case once I saw pictures. If you're using a relay switch behind the dash for your brake lights you need to make sure it's a 48 volt relay and not a 12 or a 36.

David, the 48v brake relay is the problem.

When the key switch is OFF, the negative power at the dash harness (Orange wire now at +34v) will travel either thru the 48v brake relay coil or the flyback diode back to the blue/white wire which is the +48v switched power from key switch.

That is the only area in the bucket/light harness I see that Club Car used a common negative for both the +48v and +12v side.

Having instructions for what appears to be an E Z Go doesn't help either.

Smile Re: Key Switch Issue

Issue Fixed:
Final configuration per your instructions: Rewired 16V to 12V Reducer
Reducer Harness - 2 wires
1) Connected ring terminal to battery #5 Neg
2) Bullet connector to bucket harness bullet connector
3) Connect reducer harness to quick disconnect at reducer
4) Connect bucket harness power wire to Battery #4 Pos

Thanks for the Help .. I would have never figured that one out

My first golf cart and first LSV conversion ... now for the DMV paperwork.

Due to the pack balance concern - do you recommend an alternate solution to power 12V accessories?

Good job

You had a couple of small typos that I corrected above for anyone that might look at this thread in the future for reference (Pack Positive = bat #1, Pack Negative = bat #6).

With this extra information from Sergio I would make sure, with a voltmeter that the lights actually have 12 volts on them. Measured at the light socket.
