I am always amazed when I give people rides, and they thank me because the chemo "was hard today, then the walk.... I am tired"

Good for you Oreo!! That's what America is all about!
Jim, there should be 2 bolts holding the drop down bracket on.!??? The large 1/2" bolt, and a 5/16" bolt through the rear cross member on the frame. And I agree with Curt! As you guys know, the G8 came with a full across front bumper like Caj's, kinda! That's why I think the "sprinter's" or Curt's idea fit the 8 so well! The 9 has that long lip as well tho!? OH! I know what i was gonna say, Jim, check all the bushings in the 3 link arms, and the center rubber swing arm mount. Mine is pretty stout even with the panhard bar romoved. But I have a heim joint in for the rubber center mount, (swing arm). That greatly strengthens "for and aft" movement. And between the 3 attachment points, stops side to side movenent as well. |

So, I welded two pieces of steel together, bolted the right side of the Jakes bracket to that, then tried welding the steel to the frame, but either I completely suck at welding or my welder just isn't working right. (I think more the second one!) Anyway, my weld broke off the frame last night after testing in severe ATV trail, so I ended up through bolting my steel to the frame. I don't think this will break now! |

If I remember right, theres a second hole in the bracket, and then you have to drill through the frame and then mount the second bolt.
It worked out well for me, as I was able to use that pold as a mounting point for rear seat supports too!! |

Jimmy!
Looks like you didn't clean the metal shinny clean before you welded! I think you got it, but I'd change it out for !/4" when you get some. |
