Re: motor rebuild
There's a few ways.
1, find a friend with a press and let him press it out; or 2, use a puller tool and screw it out; or 3, do this if you're like me with no friends and no cool tools: If it's a blue motor, place the motor on end with the open splined end facing down. Place a block of wood under each side of the motor casing itself, far enough to allow the armature to drop down. Remove the small screws holding the brush end to the casing. Depending on the motor, remove the small cap at the opposing end of the motor, or the speed encoder if equipped (and remove the magnet if present). Grab a large enough flat punch, like maybe a one inch steel stock, and place on the end of the armature. Grab you biggest maul and give it a good hit. It takes some good pressure. I attached the motor section of a service manual here for you to look at too. |

Re: motor rebuild
the manual says to put it back together you need new bearings and a press? if i use the same bearings and just hammer it back in will it still work?
