Re: g1 timing
I'm getting ready to use a Chinese cdi for a scooter and build a spare cdi for my cart and test it. I already ordered the cdi which was 10 dollars, bullet connectors, diodes from Amazon I will be using. It is not my invention I am just building a spare for my cart. The one I am using has a pretty good timing curve. I heavily modified a brand new Chinese 4 stroke scooter about 14 years ago and just sold it last winter but that's a different story.
I will take some pictures and post in here on this particular thread we have been talking on with the links to parts I will also post it on the G1 for Newbie thread once I build and test it. Check out post #53 its the one I'm building right now. https://buggiesgonewild.com/showthre...t=76176&page=6 Hope that helps, Joe ps nice truck I may try and build one of these below also. I get my electronic parts from https://www.taydaelectronics.com/ when I build my modules for antique outboards they have good quality electronics at a good price. Here is the cdi I am thinking of building below probably can build them for less than 2 bucks. It would not have a spark advance but I don't think the OEM cdi does either. Here is the circuit https://www.homemade-circuits.com/ho...ive-discharge/ when you look at diagram the ground would be the black wire that goes to back of magneto, the alteternator would be the brown wire from the source coil, the 6V 12 Volt pick up wire has to be split into 2 wires using 2each 1N4004 diodes to make 2 connections one for the white and green wire and one for the white and red wire, the wire that says to cdi coil would go to the orange wire that goes to ignition coil, the black and white wire from golf cart would ground the orange wire to kill golf cart. If I decide to build it I will do a how to here and the G1 for newbies. Look at his post and it shows how they use the 1N4004 diodes to split the connection into 2 for the white/red wire and white/green wire. https://buggiesgonewild.com/showthread.php?t=37607 ps Nice Truck |
