Question about house-call service

I still never found anyone to service my cart. Fortunately (knock on wood), there's been nothing major with it. But I would like it to have a good physical and change anything that might be worn out before it breaks.

One of the local golf courses said that they use an EZ-GO dealer from about 90 miles away to service all their carts. I looked on their website and it says that, besides the 2 locations in the state, they have 4 vans that go all over the state. Does this sound like a decent way to go? I know it would be more expensive than if there was someone local, but sometimes beggars can't be choosers.

I'm sure they always hope for a beautiful, cool day out, or a nice garage to work in. All I have is a small ShelterLogic shed with a dirt/stone floor. I'm not sure if they'd have to work on the ground alot??

What do you think about this option of getting my cart serviced?

I worked road service on carts for about 2 years...You never know what to expect when you show up to someones house... Its a good option for someone needing basic jobs done like preventative maint or changing batteries...the only thing is you dont always have everything you need on a van for every job so be as des as possible on what you would like done and the kind of cart you own so they will be preped...otherwise its a great option if no trailer is avail. to you...

It's dang sure better than nothing.... a least the man will be a service tech
Be nice to him and provide a big sheet of card board or carpet or whatever? But yeah I'm sure every mobile tech has had their share of oil changes in the dirt. Sounds like a plan. See what they want for an annual service.

In addition to carpeting or cardboard, inexpensive tarps and drop cloths from Harbor Freight work pretty well.

I keep drop cloths in my cars for roadside repairs.

Also, something cool to drink on a hot day would probably be appreciated.

I did Road-Service on Heavy-Trucks and Equipment for 15yrs.You never have everything for every job,no matter how much you try.Like the others said,the more info you can give them beforehand,and the more you can do to make the job enjoyable,the happier everyone will be.

I currently do road service work here in Florida you never know what to expect and I carry multiples of hundreds of different parts. My worst expirence was at a nudist colony I won't get into details but he introduced himself as tripod bob lol I was hiding in a corner doing a regular service and he showed up out of nowhere. Boy was I embarrassed.
