Default DS alignment

97 DS, tires are straight w/ square, front of tires in front are 38 5/8 center to center, aft of front tires are 39 3/8 IAW BGW threads this is excessive, although it tracks straight. Before I pop the tie rods and adjust, any input on if I move one side, this should re-align my steering wheel to center. I assume I need to find center point to have same distance for right and left tire to ensure they are equal and center?

I wouldnt worry about finding center. I would put a straight edge on the outside of both tires and adjust rods for 1/8 toe in. Right now u have 3/4. But, if it tracks straight u might leave alone. Drive a few miles and let everything settle in, assure tightness, remeasure and adjust as needed.

You need to adjust the tie rod in the back. It doesn't adjust independently. It will adjust both the driver and passenger side tire either in or out, depending on which way you go with your adjustment. One of the tie rod ends is left hand thread and the other is right hand thread. Find the desired toe setting this way. Once you reach it, remove the steering wheel and re-install it in the 12 o clock position with the car going straight. Do not try to adjust the steering wheel by adjusting the drag link on the steering box. If you go too far one way with it, you'll lose turning radius on either left turns or right turns, according to which way you adjust it. If you're hitting the steering stop on full lock in both directions, never tamper with the drag link.
