84 ezgo marathon engine swap
Hi all,
I have a 84 gas marathon, I want to change the motor to make it faster. Any ideas on what type of motor I can use? |

Re: 84 ezgo marathon engine swap
There is a thread on swapping the BV24 carb and freed-up exhaust from an 88 on to the other 2pg, but the mounting design makes an easy swap unlikely.
A compression check, over 100, to baseline, is good idea. Governor removal requires caution to not go too wild on revs. Make sure the carb is opening fully. Clutch mods wake things up. Milling the head is cheap torque. The engine is very similar to sled/ATV Polaris engines, and they make double the power even in mild form, with better exhaust and mildly hotter porting. etc |
