Default G16 clutch opinions

Hi new here. I have a g16 that's stock as of now except I removed the governor. The rollers in the clutch have flat spots. So should I rebuild the clutch or get a new comet clutch. I plan on doing a lift maybe 6". Just want to get everything in good working order first. Thanks for any advice.

Sounds like all you need is a "roller/pin" kit. Although, you will need the special tool for removing the clutch from the crank.

I would rebuild the clutch. As Smallblock said you will need a tool to remove the clutch no matter if you rebuild it or buy another . Rebuilding will help with the cart taking off better but for more power I would suggest Plowman's performance kit. I bought one from him for my G14. It came with larger carb jets, his muffler, new belt, complete secondary clutch ,and a new spring he recommended according to what you tell him would be your use of the cart.I wanted something to pull hills better in the woods and had more power.

Amen!

Although I have no experience with the comet clutch; I can't imagine what benefit it would be with a stock engine. IMO the stock clutches work very well.

Thanks guys. I'm taking notes. Bam that's what I'm looking for as well. I've been reading the different post about clutches and do's and do nots. So much info not sure if my little brain can handle all of it. Once again thanks guys for your advice.
