Default Help a cart newbie plz

Hi all, I'm trying to learn as fast as I can and have a few newb questions. I'm pretty skilled with old school garden tractors and quads but carts are different beast for sure.

I am an unashamed newbie and will ask questions with the sincere hopes someone will explain just a bit to keep me going.

I have every intention of getting a Yamaha gas cart and it seems that G16's and 22's have both more aftermarket upgrades and are simply newer than G9's

I see posts that reference CPP for parts. What is CPP?
What are ramp shoes? I am guessing that they have to do with a centrifugal clutch.

What are secondary sheaves?

So much to learn. I've asked elsewhere and will ask here ... If shopping now ... what machine should I look for to both build up and have the best options for aftermarket parts and stock parts availability?

I'm a newbie too, but I'll say welcome to the forum and answer the only question I'm sure about. CPP = Cart Parts Plus http://www.cartpartsplus.com

Secondary sheaves are the rear clutch pieces that the belt rides in to transfer power to the rear axle. Ramp shoes are the replaceable sliders that the sliding portion of the secondary sheave pivots on when it shifts for higher speed.

I am also curious what the general opinion is as to the best base cart to start with. I am a few weeks from finishing my G1 project and would like to have something I can add Horse Power to for my next project

G2/G9 has a very tough axle with reverse, those 2 have been amazing workhorses over the years. G22 has much more modern suspension & is a really great cart. These are the best ones IMO.

I would recommend to download maintenance manuals and part catalogs; incredible the amount of information you can have... A definitive mandatory first step!
