Default G1 bogging down going up slight incline?

On flat road it's perfect. I made it up some really steep hills then this started out of the blue. I can get it going by pausing for a couple of seconds and it starts back up and makes it but I will have to do it a couple times till I make it back to flat ground. Any ideas?

My experience with loss of torque / power under load is one of three things; poor compression, poor fuel delivery, or poor clutch performance. Compression is easy to check. If you are sure your fuel system delivery is ok you may want to open your carb's mix screw out some and / or raise the float bowl a bit.

It's tough to check clutch performance under load. Even so, as your issue occurred somewhat suddenly I would think your clutches are ok. Still, it cant hurt to check the belt for abnormal wear. Personally, I lube the clutch axles too.

compression is as 120, clutch looks good while on jacks but i can't simulate going up hill while it's on jacks. maybe i'll mess with the carb a bit and see if i can get it going any better.

Clutches are tough to check under load. Pretty much my test for clutches (under load) is, "everything else is fine, I guess it has to be a clutch." I normally just replace / rebuild the secondary clutches as they aren't all that expensive. If that doesn't take care of I troubleshoot the primary.
