Default reverse buzzer

2013 RXV, for the life on me I can't find it. Sure I hear it blaring from under the cover by the tow/run switch, but when a feel around still can't find it.

How did you delete your buzzer?

Don't cut any wires or disconnect it!!!! It will not pass POST and shut down. Might even damage the controller. Everything about the RXV is different than other carts.

The buzzer is under the plastic cover on the passenger side. Put some tape over it to quiet it down. To quiet it completely and safely (for the controller) you need a handset. (assuming curtis controller)

Do the Curtis versions even do that test or is that Danahar only? We never cut them off RXVs but I'm curious if anything changed. We don't get too many Curtis versions so i'm learning as well.

Bought a cart with curtis controller on which I ended up having to replace the controller. The previous owner had cut the buzzer wires. Spliced them back, still would never run in reverse and only about 1 mph forward.

That's not a reverse buzzer issue at all. One of 3 things is going on here. Stuck motor brake, bad motor temp sensor, or motor speed encoder problem. For those last 2 problems, the issue could also be in the wire harness connecting those things to the motor controller as well. Corrosion is still somewhat of an issue even tho Ezgo assured us that was "fixed". Get the troubleshooting guide, and check that stuff out. The encoder is more tricky to test, as it requires a oscilloscope to test. The $20 diy 'scopes from China do just fine to test those, but you need to know what you are looking for. Nice clean square waveforms is good. Bad tests will reveal intermittent loss of signal, which makes a Rxv controller really mad.

Yes Curtis does the test also. If you have a Curtis handheld you can go in and shut the reverse buzzer off on the Curtis controller.

Haha not on our handheld we can't. All our handhelds do for Curtis is turn speed to 19.5 MPH max, braking to 1, reverse to 7 MPH max, set profiles, set the handheld contrast, language, and view input data and faults.

No such hacking is available to our sad out of date shop. We can't get EZGO to sell OEM models, so we're stuck with lousy 1311 Dealer level handhelds only.

I think that Bob will steer you in the right direction. If you don't have a oem Curtis handheld your just stuck in the water.

CG,

Thanks! I already replaced the controller on that cart with a Navitas controller and it seemed to have fixed the problem. I still have the old controller, going to send that one to Bob and see if he can do anything with it.
