Re: 2015 club car carryall
I'd start by checking the oil level. Too much oil can cause it to smoke. Gas in the oil from a carburetor issue will wash out the rings, increase the oil level and cause it to smoke.
STart simple before assuming the worst and work from there :) |

2015 should have the Subaru EX40 Engine with EFI. Great engines. No carburetor. It should have an hour meter on it. Do you know the hours on this engine ?

It’s got under 900 hours on it. The guy I got it from said it was sitting for awhile, probably cause it smokes lol. It was a descent price even if I have to redo the engine. I’ve never had a club car with this Subaru engine yet. So it’s new to me.

Re: 2015 club car carryall
I doubt it sitting a while caused the smoking but I might keep driving it for a while. It might slow down some. If not then remove and rebuild. Just be careful you don't short anything when doing so.
Cross your fingers the electronics don't fail. I got a 2015 in my shop now that quit firing and I am told it is very costly. So far I don't have a clue what route to take . |

Re: 2015 club car carryall
The Subaru engines will get gas in the oil if they don’t get driven enough to get to normal operating temp.
The wrong oil or lack of oil changes can also cause big problems. Make sure you use a quality 10w-30 or 10w-40 oil (depending on climate) designed for small engine use. Making short trips only running the engine for a few minutes at a time will never get the engine warmed up and will cause fuel dilution of the oil because the EFI system runs a rich mixture on startup and during the first few minutes of driving until the engine actually warms up. If you’re gonna drive the cart, make sure to drive it for at least 10 minutes so the engine reaches normal operating temp. |
