Default 97 EZGO DCS cart finally fixed ! Thanks BGW !

This cart belonged to one of my hunting buddies, he previously had an alltrax controller on it that had been programmed for speed, he eventually smoked it cause he has a lot of hills where he lives, I told him get it to me and I'd try to fix it, I got him a stock controller, replaced the solenoid and resistor, still no go, I worked on this thing off and on for months, usually never more than an hour at a time, I had printed off the trouble shooting info from the site, and wiring diagrams, well , after much frustration I finally figured out the interlock switch had failed, so I cut it out and bypassed it , at least for now.

If anyone knows why I can't leave it bypassed let me know and I'll get him another one, but I don't really see a reason for it, as long as he doesn't try to drive off with the charger hooked up ?

I'd have never done it without the site and some of the members who posted some trouble shooting tips !

Thanks BGW !

The interlock safety switch is nothing more than an idiot proof device. As long as he runs the charge cord through the steering wheel before pluggin it into the cart he will be fine. The bypass has no effect beyond stopping the cart from running with the charger pugged in - - - which is big in some households!
