You mean there's people out there that adjust the governor properly and don't zip tie the thing so it will run wide open?

You are correct in that the governor "should" keep it from exploding. but really, who knows. I haven't gotten that far yet. I need to take the back seat off and take the body off anyway, so it will all be adjusted correctly once I've got a new engine to go back in it

This is completely true. I have a gasser club car that had a failed rev limiter so I just took it off, but my governor is still in play. I only drive on flat to semi flat surfaces so I’m fine. I also know the sound of my cart and would know if it is revving higher than normal. Been like that for 2 years. [emoji1689]

Probably a third of the Club Cars at our campground have RPM limiters disconnected. I always reset the governors, no zip ties for me.
