Default 1999 Fleet EZGO won't go

Over Memorial weekend my granddaughter and her friend rode the cart one evening and came back and plugged it in to the charger. Next morning the cart would not run. One of the neighbors started checking things out but was stumped. He told me he would research the problem and get it going. He couldn't figure it out. Went to camp last weekend and brought it home yesterday.
Batteries are at 36.8 volts and it will not charge. Forward and reverse give you nothing. Solenoid does not click. There is full pack voltage to the solenoid. Voltage stays the same in both forward and reverse when the accelerator pedal is pushed. Anyone have suggestions on what I should check next?
Thanks in advance.

Check your key switch and work your way back from there

Will a bad solenoid keep the charger from charging?

No but a bad charger cable going from the socket to the battery will cause it not to charge and not to run. Check for pack voltage on the 2 radsox in the charger port on the body. If not there check the white wire and possible fuse at the pack + post. If you do have voltage check for pack + at the red wire coming out of the charger port..

I have pack voltage through both the + and - on the charger port.
I have two carts and switched the solenoids so I know it is not that.
Same charger charges the other cart.
What else might cause both no charge and no run?

Does the charger click about 5 seconds after you plug in the handle ? if no, it isn't getting a signal from the handle tell it that it is plugged in. There is a sense wire in the handle that touches the side of the radsox to tell the charger to come on. I am assuming this is a 36 volt series cart ? Handle by your leg with a rod going over to a rotating switch ? Did you check the red wire ?

It is a series cart. No response from charger when plugged in and no response or click when the accelerator pedal is pushed.

Edit: More info. I have pack voltage to the large stud on the right side of the solenoid. The left side stud reads 0.6 v less. Neither of the small studs show voltage in either forward or reverse with the accelerator pedal pushed. Also have pack voltage at the contacts in the forward/reverse switch. I have a spare key switch and tried that and nothing. Looks to me like the reed switch was bypassed before I bought it 12 years ago.

Well here is the activation circuit however you do have some issue in the charger socket.

My other cart is a PDS and it charges fine on the same charger.

Okay. For now forget the charger. If the reed switch is bypassed then start from there and chase the circuit. Once you get that fixed figure out why the charger doesn’t come on.
