Last attempt at a little more speed
Built this cart up only thing on it stock is the controller.
-brand new batteries -2 gauge wires -hd solenoid (Scotty’s) -hd f/r switch -relathed stock motor 36 volt I know I know upgrade to 48 volt. Right now batteries are new and id rather sell and get an rxv then upgrade batteries and a charger to 48 volt. The brakes already struggle a little and 48 volt I’d probably want to upgrade to disk brakes.I run in 18-20 mph. Series cart. IF i switch out the controller will I see any increase in speed or am I about topped out? Any last chances to get into solid 20-25mph range with this set up |

Re: Last attempt at a little more speed
If you upgrade the controller, you can put taller tires on it. I put an Alltrax XCT400 DCS on mine with 20" tires. Made a tremendous difference.

Re: Last attempt at a little more speed
You really need to upgrade the controller. It's not a matter of if your stock one will fail, but when. The weight of the back seat and the tall tires is putting too big of a load on the stock controller. You will be amazed at what an Altrax controller will do for your cart.

Re: Last attempt at a little more speed
Is it worth putting a controller? I’ve really been toying with the idea of an rxv. What would my best option be controller wise with the 36 volt set up I listed

Re: Last attempt at a little more speed
36 volts is an obsolete drive system.
RXV is AC drive. Very different than DC drive. Personally I would upgrade to TXT48 (dc drive) My 2 TXT48 are the best carts in my fleet. One built for speed one for torque |

Re: Last attempt at a little more speed
Here's my experience: I own the 2 carts pictured. The TXT is a series with Alltrax, GE D297 high speed motor, associated support electronics and 48 volt.Cart runs 22mph with one occupant on the small 18" tires.
The RXV is stock other than dealer unlocked "freedom mode" (sometimes called coastal) and nothing else. Runs 22-23 on 20" tires. But here's the thing. Seat of the pants, the RXV feels much stronger. Acceleration is brisk in the 10-20 mph range where the TXT really falls off by comparison. The TXT slows as soon as you add weight or start up an incline. The RXV is largely unaffected by either or both. On my test hill the TXT slows to 16 mph while the RXV maintains 21. The TXT is much better at 48v than 36 but is not a match for the RXV in the environment I operate in. With Bob's tuning ( and nothing else) the RXV moves into another class all together. 32 mph and still holds the same or a little better on my test hill as before. YMMV |
