DS Starter/Generator running hot?
I have a 1998 DS and recently replaced the starter regulator, voltage regulator and belt.
Cart runs great but starter seems to be hot. Checked the running voltage and it tops out at about 14.8 volts which I assume is within specs. I checked the starter after a 15 min. run at about 3500 RPM with a IR thermometer and the housing was about 180 degrees F. Is this normal? Or can I expect an early failure? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks |

Re: DS Starter/Generator running hot?
I've never checked the temp on any of mine, but it is right next to an exhaust pipe that's probably 500°+.
Where did you get the new SG? What brand is it? Do you still have the original Club Car starter gen? |
