Precedent crankcase seal
on a cc precednt crankcase seal how far in should the seal be installed in the crankcase.Would be ok if installed with the outer edge being flush with the crankcase'

On the clutch side i believe it needs to be in past the face of the crankcase cover.
It could vary based on what engine you have though. |

I'll assume you're talking about the crank seals.
Install them in at the same point in which they were removed, if not a bit further in. As as long as they're not touching the bearing inside they'll be fine. You just don't want to leave it outward any further than the old seal was. Inside the seal the crankshaft is nice and smooth. They can get weathered on the point of it outside of where the seal rides, and can pit slightly. This pitting can/will destroy a new seal in no time. But as long as the crankshaft isn't pitted at all, you'll be fine. You can clean it up some with some emory cloth as well before you install the seal, but this is a lot easier when the crankshaft is out of the motor. |

I installed it flush with the crankcase seems to be ok
