Default Pre 96 rear in 02 DS?

Is it a pretty much direct swap to put a pre 96 ds rear end in a 97 and up? I am looking to do this to make engine swaps down the line easier. Keep eyeing the vanguard!

As long as it comes with the engine cradle and accelerator/governor cables and brackets also, you should be okay,
The shock mounts are different though, the pre-96 have eyelets for the bottom mount, your 02 is threaded rod, and they mount to the axle differently,
but if your thinking of a Vanguard, you'll have to lift it, and most lifts have a bracket to accommodate both styles.

Thats no problem, I can get new shocks. Which brackets? On the transmission or up front? I am so torn on which engine to run now its not even funny.
