I didn’t use the metal plate and my motor has run fine for years. Wasn’t sure what it’s purpose is. Possibly just something they use to assist with the riveting process during original assembly (likely done by a machine).

I don’t see why you couldn’t do something similar with the balance shaft. Again, be sure to use nylock nuts if you do.

On that bolt setup did you use #8-32 machine screw cause I couldn’t find a bolt one anywhere but I could find the lock but for the screws if have you go that route

So got it put all back together confident with all I did was firing and tryna run now no spark at all

That's not a wire to be hooked anywhere, that's just a wire clasp. You bend it around the main wire cluster that comes out of the coil, it just holds the wires. It's not an electrical component.
