Default Aren't These Rear Leaf Shackles Really Long? 2014 TXT

Newbie here, who bought a used 2014 TXT and have some questions.

Aren't these rear leaf shackles really long? Why would you use long shackles like this?

I purchased new HD springs but now I'm wondering if I should replace the shackles to stock ones? What would this do to the height?

Thanks.

Looks like the leaf springs are warn out, and rather than replace them, the previous owner put longer shackles on to get height.

Like BBBHC said, guys use the long shackles to get additional lift. You may find out that once you change it back to the stock shackles and new springs, your ride height may be lower. If that's the case, look into a short axle lift to get you back to where you were.

Thank you all..

So does this mean if I use existing with the new springs, it will be jacked up in the rear?

Sounds like the shackles need to be somewhere between what I have and the stock?

Do they even make these?

Thanks again.

What is a short axle lift? This is how currently sits with the long shackles and worn springs.

Thanks again.

There are different height lift kits. 3", 4" 6" etc. I was referring to a short lift that goes on the rear axle, rather than using longer shackles.

They sell longer u-blots that go with this too. You would want it to be lifted level with the front. From the pic, the back looks lower, so maybe a 4" lift would get you level. Hard to tell you exactly what size lift you need.

If you install new lift springs with the shackles you have now and the cart sits too high, you can always cut the shackles down and drill new holes. Typically you have to cut 2" off the shackles to lower the cart 1".

It seems like they used the shackles to gain the height in the back.

And during teardown yesterday, I saw that it has no rear shocks.

I ordered the rear blocks and shocks and am going to rebuild the rear a little better.

Thank you all.
