Post 1995 Club Car lost fire this morning

This morning I was out for a nice morning ride with my rebuilt Club car when it just died! I checked for gas of course, then pulled the gas line lose and turned the motor over, and the fuel pump works. I then walked to the house and got some starting ether thinking maybe I flooded it because I was putting around. It wouldn't even fire with starting fluid so I grabbed my riding mower and towed it home. I took the plug out and wasn't to wet . When I turned the motor over it seemed to have compression so I stuck the plug back in the wire laid it on the motor and turned it over. I can't see a spark. My best guess is it's a coil or points? something must have gone bad. I don't know anything about this engine and dont have a parts manual to know what parts this engine has. Does anyone know what the possible ignition components of this motor is ?

Thank you in advance for any possible help:)

Try this and see what you've got. Yours is older so it will have a separate ignitor underneath the rev limiter.

Since you said it was just rebuilt, I'd start by.checking all the connections and make.sure everything is secure. Those bullet.connectors at the ignitor and rev limiter are tough to get fully connected and locked in, because the heat shrink is ususlly.old and hard so it can e hard to push it all the way in. Very possible something just became unplugged

Thank you Cp241

I'm totally new to this cart and setup is there a manual somewhere that I can look at to see where the rev limiter and ingitor is located?
I check the plug in my lawn mower and it sparks so I can rule that out.

If you look at the valve cover on the front of the motor, you'll see a gold bracket with a box mounted below it just above the drain plug. The big box is the rev limiter and the little box mounted behind it between the box and the motor is the ignitor.

Quick google search found this I've got the newer ones on my computer but that would require me going into the next room, turning it on, etc. It's cold, rainy, and I just don't have that kind of motivation to move at the moment

CP I found it, wiggled the connector, and now good as new.

Thank you so much for the help and you didn't even have to break a sweat! Thanks again

Glad you got it going, happy to help. I would probably replace all of those with new heat shrink bullet connectors, you can get them at any auto parts store. That way you dont have to worry about it happening again :)
