Default club car transaxle swap question

I have a 2006 Carryall 2. The FE350 (clockwise rotation) is wore out, leaking oil and I would like to replace. I have have access to a 1995 club car. I believe this year had the Counter clockwise engine. is it relatively easy to swap over the rear ends so that I can easily install a predator without having the reverse/foward gear ration issues?

thanks

Default Re: club car transaxle swap question

If you have a parts cart then yes. You need the whole rear axle and transmission, and the engine cradle. Basically, roll the entire engine/transaxle/cradle/springs assembly out of the cart all at once. Unbolt the engine from the cradle and remove it, leave everything else exactly as it is. Bolt your new engine to the cradle, modify the mounting holes as needed, and install your clutches and belt. Roll the whole chunk under your cart and bolt it on.
New springs may be a good idea, but not necessary depending on what you want to do with the cart.
The rear shocks attach differently on the bottom on the older style cradle. The shock mounts may need modification depending on how you want the cart set up (mostly if you want to lift the cart).
