Default 93 Gas Club Car Intermittent Power Loss

Like the title says, I have a 93 Club Car DS with a Kawasaki 290 engine. Just rebuilt it because of serious power loss. After the first rebuild, I would drive it, but it still had power issues and it was leaking oil badly. Ok, rebuild it again...
Now that I've rebuilt it a second time(gaskets and O-rings only second time), it has great power again but... While I'm driving it will cut out about every 4-5 seconds, but just for a second or two, then rev back up like it should for another 4-5 seconds, cut out for a couple seconds, then back. I'm at a loss here and could use some advice on where to start. TIA

Are you hitting rpm limiter? About 3900 rpm.

I'm honestly not sure. I haven't changed anything so I wouldn't think so.

Does it do it if you drive slowly?

It doesn't really go slow anymore. It's kinda one speed. Go or not, pretty much, with little wiggle room

That's a problem in itself & suggests that you probably ARE running against the RPM limiter. try giving your throttle cable some slack. See if you can get slow speeds back. They we can work on getting you more high speed - if that's what you're after.

Just so we're talking about the same thing here... I've attached a pic of what I think you mean. The nuts were loosened and moved over a little to allow for some slack. Still does the same thing. Throttle on or not. No in between and it still does the stalling.

Yes that’s what I was talking about, but it seems that’s not what’s keeping it from slowing down. Next take the carb linkage cover out of the way (if it’s even still there) and look to make sure the throttle plate rests at fully closed when you let off the gas pedal.

You're the best! I had the spring pulled around the wrong way so it was holding the throttle wide open. Pulled it around the other way and it runs like new again! Thank you!!
