Default 93 CC DS Gas in oil

I have a 93 CC DS with the FE290 engine. At the end of the summer, it started blowing out white smoke--fairly heavy too. The oil smelled pretty heavy of gas. Drained the oil and it was full of gas. Oil also began to drip out of the tail pipe. "It was a real beaut' Clark!" I shelved it for the winter, because it's cold.

I did a compression check and had around 135psi. I pulled the carb and cleaned and inspected. I replaced the oil and ran it for a short time before the end of the season, it still smoked a bit--which I assume is because the muffler is full of oil. I did order replacement fuel filters, fuel pump, carburetor, spark plug and air filter, and have those ready to go.

I'm going to prep it for some work this weekend. What should I be looking for, or expect to see?

Pretty much covered all of your bases, the fuel enters the crankcase usually through the carb by way of stuck needle and seat area, or
Rarely but can happen through the fuel pump and pulse hose.
Cleaning the carb usually corrects the problem and most just go on from there.
I always like to inspect/clean the fuel tank to prevent it from possibly happening again as well as maybe the fuel can you fill your equipment with.
Doesn't sound like there is anything wrong with your fuel pump, maybe shelve it for a real failure?
If you ordered an aftermarket carb you should return it and trust your original one.
