Wiring The Cart To Stay Running
I'm trying to wire the cart to turn on and off at the key. I don't want the cart to turn on and off when the throttle is pressed. Has this been done before with any success? Can anyone help me or point me in the right direction? Thanks.

Re: Wiring The Cart To Stay Running
Its easy just wire around the micro switch on the foot feed and get the idle spring for your drive clutch

bob-n-holly - that sounds pretty easy. Wiring around the micro switch should be simple enough but I don't know a thing about clutches or which one I have. What / where is the idle spring, where does it go and where do I get one?

What yr is your cart?? is it 2 or 4 stroke? Most models you can buy a kit!
The spring goes in the clutch thats attached to your motor and its super easy to install just 6 small bolts pull old spring out and put new one in |

Re: Wiring The Cart To Stay Running
bob-n-holly - I don't know what year it is. It has the 96-Present TXT body and has the Robin eh29c 4-stroke motor.
I looked to purchase the spring and I found this... http://www.buggiesunlimited.com/prod...%20JL%20EZ4CYL It kinda looks like what you might be talking about but I'm confused about what the description says. It says, "This FRONT CLUTCH set allows your cart to idle". Later in the description it says, "Installs in DRIVE/PRIMARY clutch." I don't know if there is more than one clutch but I want to make sure that I get the right one. If the one I found is correct it's $49.99. Is that the going rate or is there a better place to buy from. Also do I NEED the clutch puller? If so that's another $32.99 All of a sudden this little jump a wire and change a spring project is getting kinda expensive once you add in the shipping costs. Whatcha think? |

Re: Wiring The Cart To Stay Running
WOW!!! CartPartsPlus.com was WAY cheaper.
Is this the spring I need? http://www.cartpartsplus.com/ezgo-cl...ng-spring.html If so it's half the price of the other site. |

Re: Wiring The Cart To Stay Running
FYI This sells as a kit for two reasons.
1. Jumper for the micro switch gives you a turn key start just like a vehicle, atv, utv, etc.. 2. The new spring has more resistance to up the engagement rpm's on the drive clutch so the cart will idle in place without leaving as soon as you switch the key on. Just a little info. Hope it helps!! |
